Gbenga Odimayo
Client Lead
Gbenga drives strategy and client services at AFI. A career focused on the African continent has deepened Gbenga’s conviction to support entrepreneurs on their path to scale.
He has extensive experience working with startups at various lifecycle stages, providing them with multiple interventions and resources to succeed.
He is also the incubation lead on the Investment Committee of a Kenya-based micro fund. Having featured as a Mentor with the Tony Elumelu Foundation and Guest Lecturer at the Rome Business School Nigeria, he continues to serve as a Member of the Board of Directors of non-profit, YLabs.
Gbenga began his career advising private clients at HSBC Private Bank and UBS Switzerland where he covered the African market. Fluent in English, French, and German, he holds an MSc with Distinction and BA Joint Hons from the University of Bristol.
Ahmed Hamza
Design Lead
Ahmed has dedicated his career to the field of creative design, delivering impactful solutions for brand identities across diverse markets. With over eight years of experience, he has honed his expertise in UX/UI design, presentation design, and editorial design across continents.
Ahmed’s ability to create engaging investor decks has been a driver of client engagement and funding success at AFI. A foundation in architectural engineering and Google UX Design professional certificate have enabled Ahmed to integrate aesthetics with functionality, ensuring that every design aligns with user needs and business goals.
Proficient in tools such as Figma, Webflow, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft PowerPoint, he excels in storytelling and data visualization. A committed advocate for user-centric design, Ahmed is focused on crafting meaningful experiences that resonate with audiences and deliver lasting results.
Bernard Ngunzi
Finance Lead
Bernard is a qualified and extensively experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPAK) . With over 20 years of practical finance experience, he has successfully navigated various business transactions across diverse sectors.
Throughout his career, Bernard has held numerous roles, including bookkeeping, financial management, financial auditing, tax advisory, filing tax returns, and payroll management. His comprehensive expertise has positioned him as a trusted advisor in the finance sector.
Bernard holds a Bachelor’s in Commerce (KCA University) and is an ICPAK finalist, along with a Diploma in Tax Administration (KESRA). As the Founder of Ngunzi & Associates, he brings an entrepreneurial lens to all financial and taxation-related matters within AFI’s vibrant ecosystem of clients, whose growth is well served by Bernard’s professional undertakings.
